Currently, finally the feeling of "wonna-have" overwhelmed me in case of a tricorn. There are straw-tricorns sold in the Internet, but buying hats online is as risky as buying shoes, but during a medieval fair I found a store with historical authentic clothes. Had to do some corrections, howsoever, to give it a tighter form; originally it was very loose and wide, but for humble 9 Euros, what can you say?
Actually, in the 17th and 18th century, most tricorns have been made of straw, as farmers, craftsmen and traveling people have worn them as well as noblemen and merchants, soldiers or parvenus. Most sailors had the straw version as well, though their were cheap, a good sun blocker and not as heavy as those made of natural wool.
What I am going to do with it? ... 0o ... Good question. It will be used during garden works, or something like that...

I buy my hats from http://www.pyrate.org/plunder.html I'm sure there are better places to get hats, but these folks haven't steered me wrong yet. They also do some very nice custom works etc and if you've got a close coming date are pretty quick and reasonable with expedient orders.
I have purchased one of their leather cavaliers and one of their felt cavaliers. Like I said I'm fond of this company.
Their sizing is spot on and by suggestion if you ever do go to order a leather hat from them, I suggest about an inch larger than what you need and leave room for a bandana. THey look very nice this way, and it keeps the hand sewn leather from pulling hair. =3
