Nah I don't think it's painful, he's just pissed at whoever was messing with him and made him go over the edge. Of course that unseen fool is just standing there, staring at him transforming like in every cliché werewolf movie. That said, who wouldn't be in awe if they saw a hunky guy turn into a hulking mass of muscle and fur? :D
