This is an odd thing indeed. What I actually did here (and of course no one could guess it) was to take an already existing character and apply my Transhuman doctrine (now completed) and see what the results would be.
We now have Sally Acorn living in our world, close to hour time with a made up but plauseble and non-fantasy background. And she´s human too. And this Sally has nothing to do with the Sonic universe at all other then that they´re born on the same planet. The doctrine could of course be applied to other characters but Sally will not be a part of any of my stories about the Transhumans. This is simply a silly but fun test.
2 more pics will be uploaded. One that describes the actual doctrine and how it influenced her design/form and background. The third will just be the Sally you see now but set in the normal Sonic universe.
Fubar Fox
(and yes thats a real life weapon shes holding but even that is a mockup since no Hybrid is actually capable of firing a 30MM autocannon with one hand). Nice pinup though).

Hell, they all carry .50 Cal Assault rifles or same caliber machineguns and perhaps 30MM cannon rifles but none use autocannons for live missions. They can eat/buff themselves up to the needed size but you simply cannot have 4 Meter (12 feet) tall soldiers in an actaul field of combat. It doesn´t work. I was a sitting duck myself running around with that M249 of mine while I wasn´t giving suppresive fire. 4M tall with an autocannon? They´ll RPG them to bits.
And I figure there would be only about 25 Hybrids around 2043, very few people are capable of becoming one. But then they are completely regenerative, immune to all forms of disease and bio/nervagents, can stand extrem amounts of radiation, cannot age and self-evolve their own bodies. Can´t have children though, same protective system that gives them these benefits make procreation impossible.
(some of them still f**k like bunnies though) :)

Well the main storyline takes place in the 2030/40s so I figure any powered armor will be slow and clumsy which is not something you´re gonna put on a large hybrid. Regular body armor is used though. Their combat ability is based on strength, mobility, survivability and superior weaponry. Armor is just a hindrance to them.
Any form of armor regardless of strength will hinder movement. And even with a full powered armor a 50 cal AP bullet or 20mm shell will penetrate it anyways. Armor makes you heavier and larger and thus easier to hit. And that the thing in combat, to avoid being hit. Thats what my army training was all about. We had bulletresistent vests and all, but they made you bulkier and couldn´t save you in all cases.
They do carry full body armor when appropiate, like in urban settings where mobility is of less priority.
And as for camoflage thats a different matter, they use that all the time and adaptive camo is probable in the near future.

Oh, I don't know...if the armor is powered, it can certainly take more of a beating than a .50 caliber discarding sabot round. Aramid polymers, ceramics, carbon nanotubes, materials science in the near future is astonishingly promising, especially if we manage even the most rudimentary nanotechnological controls.
Anything vehicle mounted like a 20mm hits, you'd probably be SOL, I agree.

Well why not? If someone who's effectively immune to any of the negative possible consequences of sex (well, the biochemical kind, anyway) wants to [Gallagher]screw like epileptic rabbits with the hiccups[/Gallagher], there's not exactly a huge disincentive to doing so.

Thanks. The biggest change to her (except the setting) is her eye colour. Like all Hybrids they´re emerald green, the only distinguishing feature they actually have when they´re in their human form. That was actually something I tried to draw as well, but then I figured that I really don´t want to see her human form.
No idea, could be any reason but its needed in order for a transformation to a hybrid to happen. If the subject is alive/have any brainactivity when the ambrosia cells are fusing with the subject, then the process will fail and the subject devoured instead of replicated.
Humans can die of any reason, a bit harder for the transhumans though.

No, the person being transformed will never be given the choice. This is in order to avoid people commiting suicide in order to become a transhuman hybrid. Their relatives or partners/spouses will have to make the choice for them (within 20-48 hours before the body is beyond treatment) or in rare cases the Imperial athorities. This is justified due to people being dead/unborn having no rights to choose at all. As with the unborn, they cannot choose who/where/and when they will be born. Same with the hybrids, and this is something that others must choose for them. So a relative is given a choice. Bring them back as transhuman, or leave them dead and human.
...Relative hmmn? Well, I can think of a few loopholes, but it seems like a better system than I had conceived of.
Does how damaged the body is affect the process? I mean, total carbonization or being microwaved and having your genes totaled will probably negate any possibility, but is there a specific threshold that cannot be crossed?
Yes, I have an inquisitive mind, and these superinfantry people are why I stick with vehicles. Tanks, vertols, and air superiority for wanton property destruction...in the name of good and right, of course.

Not all of them are infantry though, although 9 of the ten I´ve planned are. Shawna Nzima was the first and she is is the one running the US/IM military as a General of the army/Queen of the Empire. By 2040 only ten of them exist and the tenth is a LA policewoman. Only 0.03% of the world population is category one classified and can be transformed without failure, and in the late 30s only about 70 known humans are withing that category in the (secret) database. So there is the lack of subjects, not to mention the Ambrosia cells which make the transformation possible.
The body must maintan their personality with minimum braindamage although some of it can be repaired in the process. The rest of the body can be totaled, it will be repaired/rebuilt during the devouring process (Ambrosia cells eat and replace all human cells and then emmulate their bodies in human form).
Not many loopholes I can think of. First you must know that they are able to be processed (you never start a process without knowing they can be transformed), they must die, and then a choice must be made.
The whole idea about Transhuman hybrids are more then simple images and stories though. I plan to put in religion, beliefs, history politics and so much more into it.

Ah, so the people who are able to be transformed are not aware of it. So much for my theory of cahooting with your relatives.
And to be pervfectly clear, as long as the brain and upper spinal column are mostly intact, and the subject is within the...wait...0.03% of the current world population of six billion is one million and two hundred thousand.
And only seventy people...man, that must have been one hell of a war...

I figure that in the 2030s we´ll be a little more then 6 billion. But yeah, 0.03 percent (that figure can be modified later on due to better batches of Ambrosia) of the population can be transformed without any failures. You can test anyone to see of they´re category one just by a simple blood/skintest or just having a hybrid touching someone. The hybrid will feel an enourmous sensation during a second since the Ambrosia cells in contact with the category one human wants to attack and devour instantly, but they´re unable to.
And 15% of the world population goes into category 2 which has a 75-80% percent chance of failure and unlike category one you cannot test to see if they are in that category. And since the rest (category 3) have a 100% chance of failure and thus painful death if tried ( the subjects are revived during the process, and feel every cell in their bodies being eaten and destroyed if the process fails), no transformation will be done on a non category one subject.
As for the last comment Im not sure I understand. There was a short war in 2029, but that was before the world knew about the hybrids (Only Shawna and Veronica) existed back then. Those 70 have been added/tested through voluntary means or by accident (handshakes/hugs).

The reason for such a low percentage is simply to keep the number of hybrids low and not creating a scenario where everyone can and will become a hybrid. Immortality (as in not being able to age) sells, hybrid or not so everyone but a few would gladly accept being hybrids compared to mythological beings like werewolves or vampires (curses and being undead aint strong selling points). That would make for a boring storyline, concept and setting.
Thats why I put in other limiting factors, like the supply and handling of Ambrosia and that you must know who is class one. You simply cannot go around testing every single person on the planet or even shake their hands.
If all production of Ambrosia cells were to be reserved for transformation, you´d be ably to process about 10 a year max. This is not accumulative since its a volatile substance and will decay in time. So you see the numbers in all cases will remain small.

Every goddamn time! Can´t she just simply stop being captured, marry Koopa or being locked in a vault by Mario? Galaxy is a great game, but the premise and theme is beyond old.
Anyways, ther are better princesses out there to capture and hold on to. Just remember to read that handbook about being an evil overlord.
