The international center no longer has an alpha male. in 2009 the alpha was a white wolf named shadow. this fellow here looks like either aiden or denali, two of the younger pups, or possibly Maya, who wouldve been the highest ranking female at the time.

I actually knew this, wai did I ditz on it tho? D:

But yeah I remember now, when I was there I was attempting to discern between all of them but Aiden, Denali and Maya looked so alike ^^;; Now that I look at it though this might be Aiden? He seemed to have a little more of a reddish tint to him.

Maya is more grayish and thicker than the two pups. Denali has a lot of red, and Aiden seems to have more gray in his face and a longer muzzle. My guess would be Aiden, because this wolf doesnt have the bright red flanks Denali does.

I knew Aiden and Denali were thinner than Maya, so I was sure it wasn't her.

No problem. Next summer there are supposed to be new pups, so you should plan to return then if youre going to. Things are a bit rocky right now; If you havemt heard, Maya passed recently and Grizzer has been removed to a seperate enclosure :(

I didn't know that Maya passed away ;;__;; I knew Grizzer was getting on in age however, so it doesn't surprise me as much to hear he's been moved. He's not in the retirement enclosure, he's in a completely separate enclosure?

As far as i know, hes not 'retired', but is seperated due to the loss of confidence that came with maya's death

It was heartbreaking to see the vids just after. the whole group suffered but poor Grizz :(

It's always so sad when the wolves you been following start getting older or suddenly pass away. I've been watching the ambassador pack for a long while now and I remember back when Shadow and Malik were a part of the ambassador pack.

I just realized this is from 2010, not 2009. My computer didn't put the "Date Taken" date right =3=

And you're welcome! I think someone else said Aidan, but I'd definitely say this one's Denali. It shows off his lanky build, haha. Plus he's always paler in the summer. I might use it for drawing reference some time if that's okay with you. :)

I was so excited when I found out they chose it. Still haven't got to go see him though. D:

Lol, I saw. xD I basically learned to draw realistic wolves off the IWC's wolves (originally the 1993 litter) though, so I usually see some individual characteristics by now. Hopefully, anyway, lol. Denali and Aidan have got slightly different eye shapes for one, then there's profile shape (I think Denali may have a somewhat more exaggerated stop than Aidan) and the fact that Aidan's a darker, grayer color than Denali and stockier. Then Griz and Maya are/were lighter and grayer than those two, but Maya had a pretty distinctive face. And in the summer was prone to strange shedding patterns, lol. She was adorable.

Yeah the center's been around for a loong while xD But it's been really fun to see the pack grow and change over the years. Of course its been sad to see the older wolves pass, but they can't live forever.

It was so great to see them in person x3 Sad that I missed being able to see Grizzer in action though. But when I was there the ambassador pack kept going over to the fence where the retired group was, so that was cute to see x3

Yeah when you see them enough times for a long enough period its easier to see differences, I just haven't had much chance to study the photos of them because I'm so busy with things near me @w@
But Maya was really pretty, I was so sad to hear about her ;w; Especially since I just saw her last summer T.T
