Inktober 2024 nears it's eventual end. So for the third to last prompt we have Navigator. And it's a perfect time to get nostaglic.

When hearing the term Navigator I am immediately reminded of the cult film classic Flight of the Navigator.

My own twist on this features the youngest member of the Chan panda family Wa Chan.
Immediately upon sitting in the Navigator's ship he's greeted by the AI controller who we remember fondly as 'Max.'

And even more memorable was the fact he was voiced by the late great Paul Reubens. He used a pseudonym Paul Mall in the credits but you could totally tell it was him! XD
Upon adopting a more human personality his persona goes right into Pee-Wee Herman mode. All the Pee-Weeisms are there...especially the trademark laugh.

Now while his past navigator David found this funny....Wa here feels a bit put off by it. Knowing he's about to embark on a potentially dangerous flight in a spaceship to which he may never return the last thing he wants is the ship's AI to act goofy and unpredictable. Fortunately for him it is still very intelligent but there's some trust issues he needs to overcome first.

Max: What's the matter?? I thought it was every Earth boy's dream to fly their own spaceship!!

Wa Chan: That's why we have video games!! In those I can safely do whatever I want that I can't do in real life: Fly a spaceship, fight a dragon, beat up hookers and take their money...
