Here is one of my newest OC's, Kamadhenu, she is based on the Hindu devi of the same name.
Kamadhenu is a bovine goddess who is said to be the mother of all cows in Hinduism. It is said to be a celestial cow that grants all the desires of its owner.
Based on Hindu mythologies and legends, Kamadhenu rose during the churning of milk ocean by the gods and demons to capture the Amritha. So, Kamadhenu is said to be the descendant of the gods and demons, which emerged as a divine bovine with exceptional powers. Then she was gifted to Saptarishi, the seven ancient brahmins and insisted on giving milk and ghee for the ritual practices by Brahma, the creator. I honestly adore Hinduism as a whole. They have good teachings, virtues, stories, and overall amazing values. 👍 Even though I love Hinduism, I just can't imagine myself becoming a Hindu, because let's face it, I'd make a terrible Hindu! I love eating a lot of beef dishes, such as burgers, carne asada, pastrami, brisket, etc. So basically, if I did consider converting to Hinduism, I would obviously need to give up beef as it is considered a great sin to consume it. 😩 I can't bare to do that anytime soon, so I think it's best that I stay with Judaism, which I converted to when I was 16.
For my design of her in her eye-baring form, she is a slender, anthropomorphic cow devi with black hair in a braided ponytail tied with a red bow, a golden headband/crown studded with gemstones, hot pink horns, snout, inner ears, nails, hooves, and navel. Her fur is mostly creamy-white with pink patches (obviously inspired by the 'strawberry cow' meme) and her iris are mostly mint green, with a faint purple tint to them, as well as violet red pupils, and light blue sclera. She wears red lipstick, pink blush, bright magenta eyeshadow for her makeup. Kamadhenu's jewelry includes gold/platinum neck armor studded with gemstones, and a round golden/violet red pendent with hot pink pearls. She wears a purple/gold crop-top and skirt, based of this outfit: https://www.amazon.com/ORIDOOR-cost.....9873cc it is also covered with white swirls, blue, bright yellow, and white spots as it's meant to resemble the 'Milky Way.' Additionally, she has two large feathery wings that are three colors, hot pink, blue, and lilac, as well as a 'crown' of green-brown peahen feathers on top of her head, that are able to glow as seen here. She has a third eye in the middle of her forehead, and many eyes on the 'scaly' parts of her wings.
There is an ongoing debate whether devas/devis can be classified as angels or not, some agree that devas are a species of angel, while others disagree. Personally, I do consider devas as a species of angel because
1. They are celestial beings.
2. The word 'Angel' comes from the Greek word 'angelos' which means 'messenger' and as far as I know, devas can be described as messengers in many cases.
3. Devas are generally ranked lower in the celestial hierarchy. While devas are ranked above humans, they still remain lower in the celestial hierarchy than the mahadevas, otherwise known as the 'true gods.'
Anyways, here is a little character info to wrap things up.
