HAPPY HALLOWEEN! π by LtDWW
From Lay and featuring little Shepherd dog Amaka. She is still in the process of growing back up after that incident with the paint shop's magical Dog TF paint (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/55075472/), but hey, we're in diapers together, right? And we're celebrating Halloween today!
Man, I wish Hallow's Eve would be celebrated in a more grandios way, more similar to how they do it in America. St. Maarten is really just a lamer version of Trick-or-Treat. Trick-or-Treat at least has an interesting THEME going on, while St. Maarten over at our country is just... children going from door to door asking for candy, not even while wearing a mask or face-paint or something similar. Bummer. I actually heard not too long ago that WHEN Halloween is being celebrated in the USA, it's REALLY being celebrated, with shows and costumes and games and everything.
Why can't we have something more similar to that over at our place?

I am always interested in learning how different holidays are celebrated around the world. Rarely do you find that any two countries are the same when it comes to how they do it.

I live in The United States and am interested in how your part of the world celebrates Halloween as St. Maarten. It sounds like it is seen more as a religious holiday than as an occasion meant for innocent fun. (I know the church can be quite iffy about the wearing of spooky costumes and wonder if that is why kids in your country don't, or are just not allowed, to dress-up to go out trick-or-treating?).
***
Thankfully, regardless of how everyone in your area celebrates Halloween, or any holiday, you are always able to use the arts to make it as fun, fun, fun as is possible. :)

Nice said, Yosh!
Well, the church has become very... ''mild'' these days, as in, no strict religion-based activities these days. You can still CHOOSE to join the club, but I'm not really interested in those things. There are some cultures in the world that force kids to follow a specific cult, but fortunately, that's not the case in Europe, or at least not in the Netherlands.
