Made for one of my fave DA groups (the fact this group exists makes me feel a bit less evil, lol) for their group birthday contest.... though this may not get entered since we have the option of doing a poster or a group icon but not both....So I am waiting till the last minute to decide just what to enter
...I need to quit killing Link...
I promise that in my next dark fanart piece Link will be the one kicking ass.
PS yeah yeah "sword of evil's bane." Dark Link should not be able to touch it....just shud up and enjoy the added angst of Dark killing Link with the hero's own sword.

Short story tidbit for this
(I was in the mood for writing something morbid....also, you gotta love them pink fairies)
The blade tore through Link's shoulder before reaching its destination through the hero's chest.
The world seemed to freeze for a moment as Link realized just what happened, his mind raced to confirm if he had in fact not used that last pink fairy yet...or if this was finally the end.
The hero gasped as the sword was pulled free, Link staggered back, strength leaving him along with the torrent of blood.
He hit the ground hard, unable to catch a single solid breath as his body began to protest his very existence.
Dark stood over the hero with a sly grin on his shadowy face "Don't look so damn smug." Link though to himself, unable to speak through the blood that filled his throat, unable to move as his body grew heavy "I do have one last fairy...Once my heart ceases the fairy will set to work... and I will kick your ass for good next time."
Link put a hand to his chest, every sensation was fading but he could still make out the warmth of blood under his fingertips.
"Dying sucks..." the hero thought to himself as breathing became more and more impossible "I need to not get killed so often...and before I die again... I need to remember to find another pink fairy..."
