So, it’s been a while since I’ve seen the 2 Rio movies, and of course, I preferred the first Rio over the second one. I still really enjoy Rio 2 though, but I’m just not much of a fan of the whole “saving the wildlife” concept, which it is a good concept, but I’ve seen it done many times before, and I just felt like the first film was much more interesting (and funny too, sometimes), but still, Rio is one of my favorite Sony Pictures Animation film dualogies, along with Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs of course. I decided to draw Blu and Jewel from the series since they’re some of my favorite characters from the films, which I guess is pretty obvious considering they’re the main characters. I used the Angry Birds Rio art for reference which made this so much easier to make in my opinion, because I usually have a hard time using 3D art/renders for reference since it almost always makes the end result look off in my style, but honestly, this didn’t turn out that bad even if some things might still look off I guess. And yeah, I figured I would use the Angry Birds font as well considering it would be pretty fitting, as well as a simple, wavy blue background of course.
Correction: Rio wasn’t from Sony Pictures Animation, it was actually from Blue Sky Studios. Sorry for the mix-up.
