Not at all. I've had my ponysona for many years since I was 20, now reaching 30. I'm not ashamed of having one whatsoever, neither am I ashamed of having a mouse fursona either.
You'll eventually learn that everyone is weird in their own way and that we're much happier to embrace our weirdness (within reason, of course) and not care too much about what others think.
