Potlucks are my favorite casserole-consumption venues. There's always two or three. I also love the dishrag napkins and ball jar candle holder - home decor in the style of Americana 2.0 as you put it. I get the sense you might be a fan of the arts and crafts movement. You have an appreciation of stuff that's aesthetically considered but simple, and functional. "Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful. " - Wm. Morris
i'm so glad you noticed the dishrag napkins! i am very much into the "americana 2.0" decor at the moment, and yes i am all about the etsy-hand-craft-diy as well. by the way that quote is great, thanks for sharing
this may or may not be unrelated, but this blog is one of those where i go to gain inspiration. used it for this illustration for sure.

I DO enjoy! Food porn!OMG the blue stained table in the first set of pics is... damn! there needs to be an emoticon with its eyes bugging out cuz I love colored stained wood and it's so weathered and boneriffic.
I also <3 mason jars and recently bought a couple of these from the (then local) watering hole: http://store.lagunitas.com/Lagunita.....Jars_p_23.html stylish, yes, but sadly they do not actually have threaded tops so they only function as glasses (or candle holders). Similarly, the mexican restaurant near me (bomb tortas, lame burritos) has hanging lights that are just upside-down 3 gallon metal buckets with light bulbs in them. SO RAD.
Fun fact: Etsy was started by dudes I went to college with. We sat on student council together.

haha this looks freakishly similar to the parties my friends host. Just add alot more yelling, jew sitcom references, and at least one big fake Louis Vuitton bag.
but besides that this piece fantastic! The interaction between characters is really believable, awesome job :3

Wow, I love the style of this piece, there's a lot of realism yet they look... "toony", for lack of a better word, in how the facial structure is but their poses and action look very true-to-life. Plus they just look like a bunch of guys having a good time, and the color palette is subdued but warm.
Awesome to see a more general raucous good time be depicted like this. Awesome work!

D'aw, how bro-tastically posh. I dream of having dinners and gatherings like this on some set schedule that everyone just knows. I love the look and feel of this pic, as if I am actually peeking in on someone's life moment. I love that wine drinking pose, very well done.
