Beautiful shading on this one!

Something about the hair stands out to me, though. It appears..akward, almost straw-like, and lacking the softness of the rest of the drawing.

I almost suggest doing some smudging to silken it out, or using thinner brush strokes on it..

This one's kind of old... I'm thinking of going back and completely re-doing it from the linework up. In the original, he was smoking a cigarette, which looked a little less awkward than this pose, and I liked better, but the person it was for didn't like smoking...so...

It's a gorgeous piece of work overall, redolent with mood and depth. A shame it was abandoned.

I agree that the hair is stiff. You can sort of break it down into four major 'clumps' and each clump contains only almost-straight hairs. There seems little gravity to it or flexibility or 'fluffiness'. It hasn't got much depth.

Fortunately it is a digital piece so if you do choose to play around with it, redoing the hair will not be the nightmare that it would on an actual canvas/board.

Yeah, that's what's great about digital art ^.^

What a moody pic. I really like it, and I seem to be feeling lately how he is. I really like the shading/coloring, but agree with the above comments about the hair.
