Horde Prime had been defeated. Etheria was safe. It was time for Adora and Catra to settle down from adventuring and enjoy a peaceful life together. However, a wrench was thrown into that plan, pretty quickly.

While they were assisting in the clean-up of the remains of the final battle with Horde Prime, Adora and Catra stumbled into some still-active First Ones technology, that turned out to be an ancient security system; before they could take evasive action, they had been blasted by what turned out to be body-altering magic.

And those alterations were not messing around. Catra's body ballooned outwards with air, turning her into a massive round blimp of a girl, while Adora's breasts and butt filled out until she had the kind of hourglass figure that would leave less athletic women immobile. It was quite the shock, but even moreso as they realized that no magic they knew, nor First One tech they had access to could turn them back!

They now have temporarilly (perhaps) relocated to Junction Square, a city much more friendly to those of their size, as they wrangle with their new bodies. Although it does seem like neither one is that upset by the changes...
