Ace, Glaceon - Kings of After
In a world where humans and pokemon have ceased to exist, something else has risen to take their place...
Every League-bound team has to have a Trainer. But Ace doesn't look like a Trainer, and everyone who meets Ace's team assumes the role belongs to...someone else. Anyone else. The team of heavy-hitters and three-stage evolutions has a running bet on who is going to be the assumed team leader on any given day upon meeting any given stranger.
Ace doesn't mind. Not. One. Bit.
When might makes right, every presumption of subordinance is a reminder that being a small target is second only to being a nonexistent target. Ice types are fragile, after all, and taking out the Trainer in the wilderness is just as legal a way to win a tournament matchup as taking out the entire team in the ring.
Diverting attention toward someone tougher is a useful trick that the rest of the team is in on, and Ace doesn't mind being overlooked for the sake of the team.
Really. Truly.
... And it doesn't make the occasional ice-favoring matchup any less satisfactory an outlet for misplaced aggression.

Ace is a secondary character from a story I've been putting together since...2014, wow. Didn't think I'd been THAT distracted...
