As he watched the red gargoyle walk out onto the dance floor, Chaos let out a vexed sigh. Part of him wanted to approach Gadget this very instant, while another part rejected the idea. Caution won out for the moment. After all, he still didn't know how to phrase the question he wanted to ask. And wasn't sure if he was ready to ask it either.

Gadget turned, and felt her jaw drop open when she laid her eyes upon Chaos despite him standing twenty or so feet away. He was dressed in a full tuxedo outfit, and as much as she hated to admit it, he looked quite fetching. The combination of it, his green coloration, copper colored hair, and that stubby beak – it was just the right size! – made him look all the more appealing.

"If you keep gawking like that, you'll start drooling," Titmouse observed with a mischievous grin as she picked up her own drink.

"I'm not interested in him!" Gadget countered quickly. She belatedly realized she said that maybe a little too quickly, and too defensively. She grimaced at her own stupidity. After drinking a full glass of punch, she tried to rein in her emotions, and hormones. Now was not the time for them to act up no matter how good looking he was.

"Oh? Then why are you staring?"

“I am not staring,” the gray colored gargoyle shot back with a scowl. She couldn't believe she was getting teased by one of her closest rookery sisters, even if she was speaking the truth. How could the one guy she didn't like be so darn handsome? It didn't make any sense.
