More progress on the owl!
Right now, all his patterns are sewn and attached to the head. He's still all puffy-looking and his eyes/beak are a bit buried under all that fluff. The next step will be for me to attach his neck and trim down his face and get him ready for airbrushing.
The next set of photos will be a before/after comparison of what he looked like before he was airbrushed and after! The whole costume should be finished by tomorrow and ready for sale by Monday. :D

Where did you find that beautiful brown fur for the face? Is it DF fur? Or other?
... sorry asking because I'm going to hopefully make a spectacle owl someday, and thats the color i want for the belly... didnt think there was fur that color.
This head turned out beautifully by the way.

You are correct! All of the furs on this head were bought from DF. That's their camel solid long hair fur on the face, brown feathered fur on top, and black and white solid fur for the details. To be honest, the feathered fur works well for smaller areas, but may look a bit odd/shaggy if used over larger areas. Beastcub's owl suit is a good example of that feathered fur in use over the whole body: click to see.
Just something to keep in mind as it can be a tricky fur to use because of the different pile lengths in it and has a slightly different effect depending on the area covered. And thank you! C:
