"Hey! Welcome to the island! Make yourself at home!"

This may sound strange to straight up hear it (or read it, in this case), but I had a fascination with turtle characters not in their shells. You can see it in the likes of Mac or Flint, and after being on the Internet long enough to see it from the likes of a Wartortle, I've decided that I wanted to give it a shot. Over the last couple of days, I made it happen, and created a new character. Say hello to Wave!

Wave was born somewhere in the forests of Aunov, but isn't entirely sure where except that it was near a river. His egg was assumed to have been swept into the river and carried out to sea, where it was discovered by Dora Dorrie near her home of Ceiwei. Together with her best Lapras friend, Aquamarine, the two did their best to raise the little one inside, who to this day doesn't know who his birth parents are.

As a Squirtle, he liked being called "Squirt," swimming through the ocean all day, hanging out with friends at home, at school, or just going out on a little adventure. He then decided to change his name to "Wave" when he evolved, as he felt it flowed better with "Wartortle." During a swim, he had accidentally busted his shell into pieces, and was unable to recover a new one. He was quite the odd one out in his community, so when he felt the time was right, Wave left home in search for places abroad, finding it in the Aunov island territories. He once again adopted a new name, this time "Kailanu," but only to feel really involved with the islander life, continuing to know himself as Wave. In a small community on land this time, he found new interests he didn't have before, such as body painting, cooking and surfing. Wave opened a smoothie shop for the locals to enjoy, although he sometimes thinks he should've opened an art studio thanks to his love of painting.

Wave is very much a buddy. He's friendly, energetic, excitable, a little loud, a bit playful, and certainly loyal and respectful. He enjoys making leis and wearing them on his head and around his neck, as well as decorating his body in designs, which he doesn't mind doing new every day if he has to. Wave commonly has a pattern on his right arm regardless, signifying the four general landscapes of Aunov: the 🔵 waters and coastlines, the 🟢 hills, plains and forests, the 🟡 flats and valleys, and the 🔴 mountains. He also has a Power Heart on the left side of his chest, representative of the island community he called home and grew to accept himself in. Depending on what activity he's doing, he's likely to paint shapes and pictures on himself relating to that activity, such as boats and surfboards if he's surfing, or a bunch of fruit if he's at his shop making smoothies. He may not have a shell, but he makes up for it in the most expressive way he knows how!

I'm currently writing this description in a bit of a rush late at night, so I can't really flesh out the story and add as much detail as I'd like to for a new character introduction. But, I hope you like it and him anyway!
