It was the spatial elements in this piece, especially the grid, what reminded me of Superstudio.
Apologies if this following reasoning is hard to parse or if it's a bit too poetic, it just made me wonder briefly if it intended to map space in the sky, rather than on land. It's like a guide to the places we look up to, shared goals acting as an ideal to reach, acting as a backdrop to the characters depicted.
