After October, Min & Max lost their comfy pumpkin home and have to endure the elements of nature. They can survive through winter on their own, they have plenty of times before. It is just a horrible experience for them having to go so long while hungry and cold. In their carelessness, they crawled on top of a log seeking the warmth of the sun. This would normally expose them to predators. Fortunately, Phi discovered them first and rescued them before they got hurt. She decided to keep them safe and warm in her terrarium for the winter. Min & Max might not be smart enough to understand the transition, all they do know is that they are warm and full now. And for a snail, that is a perfectly fine way to be.
