And it's a dragon's gut, the one that can digest food nearly as fast as an otter. I'm convinced, headcanon, that she has SOME control over her gizzard, or he'd have been soup by now. But it actually adds some realism that she can't hold it back forever. To her stomach, food is food. As is, I'm convinced they're going to need to throw him into a safety shower after he gets out of that acid bath.
Dark actually cares. She really, really LIKES Nick, and realizes a rather fundamental truth: Dragon poop isn't very cuddly. Rather bad at conversation, too.
She really doesn't want to hurt him, and already, those gizzard juices are starting to work on him - not to mention close to drowning him.
I hope Tom does get back in time. She will be in deep gratitude if he saves Nick's life.

OMG! She's just being a mommy to her scared baby, I love this so much! This is not only wholesome, but it also adds so much neuance to Darky herself with us seeing a more caring part part of that we've rarely seen before in this comic!
