Back in the early 2000's, my days were spent polishing machined turbine blades to remove their imperfections. This was pretty mindless work so music was a constant companion to stave off the boredom. Shortly after discovering Ayreon's "Universal Migrator Part 1" album, I was entirely hooked by this particular song and spent many days dreaming up a fictional story based around the idea of non-linear reincarnation. While that story only became some comics I made for a while, the song is still in my regular rotation and it felt appropriate to make it my first cover by another artist. The original song is the style of prog rock, or as Arjen Lucassen dubs it, "Space Metal." I went for more of an electronic dance beat instead.
