Hey everyone!
This has been a personal illustration in the works for many months since the first sketch was created and I have gotten a good reason to continue it as the lovely and wonderful Mini/Rowan has crafted a figurine of my sona sitting in a bathtub with bubbles and water in her paws. This was by no means planned and I was surprised, crying happy tears, when they gifted me this gorgeous figurine you can find in the link.

I once sketched myself sitting in the bathtub because I absolutely love taking baths to enjoy and calm down a little. I love the warmth and the feeling of being at piece, the smell of a good shampoo as well as some relaxing music playing in the background, kind of like a mini DIY Spa Day. So I sketched myself but added a small toy Sloop inspired by Sea of Thieves (one of my favourite games of all time) to it as well as a small rubber duckie for fun. What I didn't know, quite a few months ago when being in a call with ThisIsNorsense and AMiniLife (Norse's partner) and showed the sketch to them, Mini was already working on crafting a figurine of that very scene. Talk about same brain cell! And when I got it, I just KNEW I had to continue this piece as a tribute to the incredible work Mini has done. I can't express how much I love the figurine and how grateful I am for it, so this piece is a tribute to Mini and their skills and creations.
I had a lot of fun rendering the water, bubbles, fur and objects in this piece and it might be one of my all time favourites now. I knew I could have done it simpler, but I wanted to put more work and time into it, making sure to have a lot of details showing and getting the overall feeling and atmosphere right. I'm also proud of how the shading and highlighting came out and played around with colours a bit to make it more pleasing for the eyes. Additionally: BEANS!
So yeah, I'm very happy how it turned out and proud of my work in this case. Please feel free to let me know what you think!
