Meet Dr. Ashton Solah and Dr. Thomad E. Clisp, two genius scientists that met in college and became friends, starting Solar Eclipse Laboratories once the graduated and are indirectly responsible for a lot of problems that have happened in the world I created. Lore dump below as these two a very important characters

Dr. Ashton Solah, a striped bat with a rags to riches story. He grew up poor and had a knack for inventing, earning masters and doctorates in engineering, chemistry, robotics, programming, and physics. Ashton wants to make lives easier with his inventions and make the world a cleaner, safer and healthier place. His father worked in mines until it took his life, so Ashton learned how to bend steal and learned to make it move, he doesn't want any child to say that their father worked into his grave.

Dr. Thomas E. Clisp, a gray wolf that comes from wealth and used money from his family to start Solar Eclipse Laboratories. Thomas holds doctorates in medicine, biology, bio engineering, and pharmaceuticals. Thomas seeks to understand how some can have super powers or able to use magic and others cannot, even seeing if they can be bestowed or taken away. He also seeks to conquer death and extend life due to past trauma, which also caused a major shift in his personality, he was always calm and collected but has become cold-hearted

While both scientists have the same goals, they have different motivations, which caused the eventual collapse of their company as they parted ways to forge their own paths.

On a side note, bats in my universe have evolved to where their wings are boneless structures with a spongy tissue, they are seen as vestigial, but can be used to glide for a short amount of time, usually the wings are amputated at birth. However for Ashton when he was born his parents couldn't afford the surgery to remove the wings, so he drapes them around his shoulders like a cloak.

Thomas covers the right side of his face with his hair and wears a glove on his right hand to hide his scarred and disfigured right side of his body from an accident he was involved in. As such he tries to make sure people see him from his left side as much as he can.
