One of my favorite photos of the old, abandoned factory near the trail I frequent, as featured in the background of Holding the Hand that Holds Me Down and likely a few more to come, including a pic of Dumptruck the Protogen that I plan to post at some point.
Photo Date: October 16 2024.
Camera/Phone: Motorola Moto G 5G, 1x zoom.
Dimensions: 4080x3072
If you're viewing this on Fur Affinity, consider checking it out on Weasyl as well since FA tends to scale images down if they are above a certain size, while Weasyl to the best of my knowledge does not.

Figured I should try to pivot into posting some of my photography, little by little. At least the good stuff and a few things I think might be useful as stock images/reference photos for other artists. I am noticing that "draw-overs" and various other forms of adding a drawing of a character to a photograph is becoming more common--or maybe I'm just noticing it more now that I myself have started doing so.
It's a fairly distinct building and I'm sure readily recognizable to a few. My research tells me it used to manufacture alternators and other electrical components for cars (and possibly batteries as well), was shut down before I was born, and if a Reddit post by an urban explorer is to be believed, is finally slated to be torn down sometime in the next year or two, which is unfortunate but definitely necessary given how the building has been vacant and decaying for nearly 40 years and is showing obvious signs of that decay and neglect.
I heavily associate this factory with a few characters of mine, specifically Nick Domnall, Nico Reynard, and Dumptruck. It has both "Places Nico Reynard Has Gotten His Ass Kicked" and "Places Nick Domnall Has Attempted Suicide" vibes, and I'd describe the aesthetic as "Industrial Gloom". In my notes and descriptions I refer to it simply as The Factory, although in art I use it as a stand-in whenever I need a vacant/abandoned/decaying industrial location.
I have quite a few photos of the factory from the past couple years, ever since I started taking my walks in early 2023, although most of the photos are from the same handful of angles as these I'm not about to risk a trespassing charge, as tempting as the prospect of getting some new angles and shots from around back or even inside the factory is.
However, this is probably one of my favorites even if the JPEG is quite noticeable at 100% zoom.
Disclaimer that should not be necessary but probably is: I am not responsible for, nor do I condone or support or agree with, any of the graffiti/tags or any messages it may convey. Especially since half of it seems to just be peoples' initials but might be coded messages, IDK.
I know a couple of them are peoples' names, from some angles (but not this one) someone's social media handle is visible on the building, there's a hate message that was hastily censored by the property owner and/or city/county (that I do take care specifically to hide/obstruct/edit out when I make use of that dilapidated gate house in art) and we all know what "Trump" means. Surprising lack of swastikas and penises, though, at least from this angle.
I am offering this photo for personal, noncommercial use in art projects or as a stock photo or reference image. Please credit me if used, preferably with a link to the original photo as posted on Fur Affinity and/or Weasyl or with a link to my Fur Affinity and/or Weasyl page.
Also, if you'd like to share any art or projects making use of this photo, feel free to drop a link in the comments.
