My entry for a contest Beastofoblivion on DA held once. I started another picture first, but I wasn't all too happy with it, so I worked on the second idea I had.

Phasma live underground most of the time. Because they don't use to come out of their tunnels and caves, their skin doesn't develop any color pigments, which makes them look white/transparent (thus the name Phasma, which means Ghost or Phantom).

In rare occassions you might see one of them outside at night.

They've got 6-8 eyes to catch more of the very little light (if there's any) available in their habitat. Also, they have three 'whiskers' on their chin and four shorter tentacles on their back which are used for further orientation.

Hidden in the tongue of a Phasma, there's a little poison sting, which can be shot out in case the Phasma has to defend itself. The poison isn't strong enough to kill any big critter, but it makes them feel dizzy so the Phasma has time to run and hide.

Phasma aren't very piccky about food. They eat about everything they can catch.

Sometimes you might find a family of Phasma living in the sewers under some big city.
