This is an amazing idea and I love it! I'm learning to draw at the moment and am mostly focusing on drawing humans and anthros to get a solid hold of anatomy, but I want to learn to use perspective and to draw buildings in the future, so I'm making a note of this strategy. OOOH!!! That dice trick for lighting and blocking is great! I love it. I'm going to appropriate that! I had been considering building little buildings out of card-stock, but I love yours for the lighting effects off the gloss and translucence.
