The past two years have been a rollercoaster. Depression, brain cancer surgery, chemotherapy, family trouble, getting fired... I haven't finished a painting in over two years. Until today.

I'M BACK!

I'm still not 100% but much better, and I'm focusing on art again. Of course, first I'll have to address my commission backlog, but you can expect some personal pieces on the side, like this speedpaint. I also have a picture in mind to celebrate my victory over cancer, but that will take a while to finish.

I wish to thank you all for being patient, for having faith in me, and for all the good wishes I've received during the recent troubles. I love you all. And stay tuned for more art. :)

       I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. For a while now I've been trying to get more painterly. Specifically, I'm aiming for the look and feel of oil paint. Then last week I found these impasto* brushes and really wanted to see what they could do. This is the result. :)

       * Impasto is the term for the three-dimensional texture created by thick paint. These brushes emulate that, so it looks more like real paint.
