Maybe not if you’re leaning forward to draw. The idea was to just have the tail in the frame. I’d probably want a seat with a hole in the back to stick it through if I had a tail, and at the same time, place it somewhere it wouldn’t be stepped on

Not at all, for example Hitman's protag is only called "47", so it'd be in that ballpark. There's a couple of characters that use numbers as names, often with the intention to mask details about them or because specific details are not know about their person, as is the case with 47 but also "11" from Stranger Things. So number names are not unheard of, they help maintain an air of mystery, which I personally appreciate
