Nothing really uncivil about something that many states in the US specifically give allowance in written law for. Or, if you instead think I was maybe trying to be aggressive or argumentative about it with you, I can assure you I wasn't. I was instead building on the specific part of your statement. An opinion I've always had is that written text is terrible for conveying emotional inflection and/or intention or even just tone of voice, leading to miscommunication like that.
