I recently took a trip to Salem and got to revisit a pirate exhibition that is very close to my heart. I got hella inspired, and as someone who is currently in their One Piece/Pirate hyperfixation, it was like a dream come true! After visiting that cherished place, I picked up a cute floppy and very soft black cat plush from the Witch Museum gift shop. She ended up taking on a personality and life of her own! A very courageous, daring, bold, swashbuckling cat! I decided to name her Read, after the famous woman pirate Mary Read. Not long after the trip, I decided to draw her! So, here she is! I'm thinking of expanding on this character and her world at some point in the future when I can. But in the meantime, she's still a very dear companion to me and a wonderful snuggle buddy when I'm trying to sleep at night.
