Had a friend with a 'hot' truck that his girl friend kept getting speeding tickets in. Seemed she just loved the sound it made when the four barrow carburetor opened up.
I simply suggested he unhook the link to the big ones for a while ...

This was back in the mid '80s when wasting a little gas wasn't so hard on your wallet.
The main idea was to get her lead foot off the gas. He got her using it correctly and then hooked the link back up. Was almost a month before she found out the fun way. (she was told that any tickets would have him not just dropping the link, but he'd replace the carb with a much smaller one. They tied the knot a yer later, so things worked out pretty well.)
