Guess I've kinda been in a Mammoth Mutt mood lol. Man, it was not easy trying to find a good ref for Mammoth Miss, seems like one of those really obscure characters from a comic series that's been around since the dawn of time. And of course being overshadowed by the more well known Krypto the Superdog version cause, idk, guess pink is an attractive color for inflation pics. Probably explains why Amy Rose is a popular choice lol

Wait, was she actually purple?
(thinks about it)
Yeah. . .I guess she was, but then again, I think she appears for one panel in the og Superboy comic book and then I don't think we ever see her again. She appears more in the Superdog-Scooby Doo crossover comic book than she did in the Superboy comics. It's weird, because she goes by the name Mammoth Mutt in the crossover, but it's very clearly based on Mammoth Miss. I'm sensing something was lost in translation. . .bu-u-u-u-u-u-ut I have an explanation.
My head cannon is that after og Mammoth Mutt died and Mammoth Miss joined the Dogstars in his place, the other Dogstars (except Tail Terrier for some reason) kept referring to her as "Mammoth Mutt", because she has the same super power as him. For a while, she tried to fight it, but she eventually got tired of fighting it and got tired of constantly having to correct everybody. She just gave in to being referred to by her boyfriend's name.
Also, yes, Mammoth Mutt is super popular because of the TV show. If it hadn't been for the TV show, the Dogstars likely would've just been lost to time and would've been that weird group of knock off "Legion of Superhero" characters who appeared in two (technically three) issues of the Superboy comics and were then never seen again. It would've been something that only die-hard DC Comic fans know about, and I guess the argument could be made that it IS like that today as well. A lot of people know about the Dogstars because of the show (and because of how popular Mammoth Mutt is), but a good number of people probably don't know about their origins.
