If it loses 24 minutes for every hour it shows, then for the three hours it's shown past midnight, there are 24 minutes to add, thus 72 minutes. If it stopped one hour ago, that's another hour to add. Thus, I believe the time is actually 5:12 am.
Of course, if the clock is unreliable, there's the distinct possibility that the clock doesn't lose exactly 24 minutes per hour and the time is therefore indiscernable with the information given.
Then again, it could be a riddle in that the time that the questioner is asking for is the time it is now - not the time that the clock should be saying. In my case, that would be 6:48 pm, Eastern Time as I am writing this.
Alternatively, it's time to buy a new frickin' clock. XD

I'm sorry, but unless I'm really missing something that's staring me straight in the face, the time couldn't be 6am.... Doing all of the math, if the clock stopped an hour ago, it would have stopped at 5:00, and that's impossible if you're only losing 24 minutes to the hour... My brain hurts... explanations are needed...
