Mordecai is a fun loving fatherly cocker spaniel working at his family's farm. He used to be a professional boxing champion until he and his wife got divorced and lost motivation, mainly because it was always about fame and money, and never fair play. Mordecai moved from Tanzania to Vancouver with his daughter, Susana who was not happy about that. Mordecai asked his brother, Raymond, if he could work with him in any station. Raymond gave Mordecai the job as a wine presser.
Mordecai met Paul at the hospital in New York when Bernice, his niece, was terribly injured during her paralympic training. Mordecai told Paul and Rebecca about Gusty Valley since he overheard the raccoon couples about moving out to another state.
Mordecai does have deeper feelings with Paul, he likes to consider him as his closest bestie. Later in the series, Paul starts to have some deep thoughts with Mordecai after he doggy kissed him while they, and their other friend Maxwell, were out camping.
