This is the legend of the party that occurred at Lord Pemberton's estate in 1897. Several high ranking ladies and gentlemen attended the party, which was going to involve the unveiling of a new artifact Lord Pemberton had purchased that week. Legend was, it was the Idol of Yig, Father of Serpents.

The next day, the estate was found empty. No one, no guests, servants, or Lord Pemberton himself were ever found. Only the shreds of clothing and signs of distress. Curiously, there were also puddles of a mysterious liquid, which investigations showed were highly potent cobra venom. The quantities defied all belief.

Also, the idol was nowhere to be seen.
