Biography
Wiles grew up within one of the many layers of Inferno - Lust, to be specific. He had other siblings, but hardly got to know them as they all aged and moved on from their parents. But he chose to stick close to his own, wanting to help his family thrive than to desert them. In spite of his efforts, his father was more baffled at this, stating how unusual out of all his children, Wiles was the oddest of the bunch. It left the young Zoroark hurt, knowing his father wasn’t really too trusting over him, but he stayed around anyway as there wasn’t anywhere else he could think about going off to within Inferno.
Growing up, he did make a small group of friends, one of which was a Gallade who was damned to Inferno for his past transgressions in life named Enios. These two in particular were rather close and often would go hunting for anyone weak in their eyes or the rare angel, but of course, Wiles got to have whoever they bagged as a treat. If there was anything his father taught him, it was the thrill of a hunt and to show no mercy to his victims in the process. Wiles was somewhat heartless as he aged, bad mouthing others on occasion including his thick headed father. Their conflicts is what kept them together for so many years…until the young Zor found a way to the living world.
He and his friends managed to come out to a snowy region of the living world, but surprised to find a kingdom of sorts glistening in the not so far distance. Upon making their approach, the party were ambushed by a set of Scizor knights, but Wiles managed to buy the others time to retreat. While his distraction worked, it left him to be captured and taken into the kingdom for the next month of his life.
The Zor would later awaken, finding himself trapped in a cage made of holy material. In his time in captivity, Wiles would discover the holy land of Tunaldris was ruled by Angels and he would be used as a bargaining chip to have some leeway against the invading demons of Pride layer. The one thing Wiles neglects in his life is that his father came from Pride before moving into Lust, making the young Zor the perfect target for the angels to take in. The ruler of the land was an angelic Delphox named Dieble, who made sure any attempts at escape Wiles made proved pointless. All the while, Diable’s daughter grew rather curious of this demonic Zoroark, almost taking pity on the condition he was left in.
In the middle of his month in captivity, Wiles would find out who this daughter was from frequent visits. She was a rather slim and slightly curvacious Phox herself by the name of Valary, who saw his physical condition worsen. He was a tough demon, but was hardly given any food so he couldn’t muster any strength to dig out or break free of the cage. Not like he could anyway, but in secrecy, she kept tabs on him and his occasional babbles in the night, getting to know just the kind of man he is and potentially wants to be. Her kind heart showed to him in full after Wiles finally manages to get some contact with his father through unusual means, revealing an agreement both him and Dieble made in private to sacrifice Wiles. She couldn’t take seeing a demon like him break down like this, mentally snapping this Zor to know his worth in life. But all was not lost as Valary made a decision that would change their lives forever.
On the day of his execution, the two escaped from her kingdom and fled through the snowy tundra, making their own little adventure away from civilization and to somewhere Valary only ever heard of in written text: The mysterious forests of Nasurah. Although the two were angel and demon respectively, their journey would let the two bond over time, even making a couple friends along the way in the form of an anthro Dusk Lycanroc by the name of Mary and the most unusual companion of all: A shiny flame marked [REDACTED]. However, the group would steadily disband as events came up along the way, leaving the angel and demon alone yet again, but closer than ever.
By the time they got around the mountains that separated the lands, the two barely made it into the land that is said to be where many spirits gather of both benevolent and violent. In the midst of them reminiscing on their journey, the two were quickly assailed by a fully revived Enios, who came to take Valary home and slay Wiles for the contract between the other angel and demon being incomplete. Enraged by his friend’s betrayal, Wiles fought an uphill battle against Enios, knowing how well the two knew each other in their fighting styles. However, Wiles would lose both an eye and an arm in their fight, putting him on the brink of death. Valary managed to intervene in the battle, blasting him with a bolt of flame from her iron staff. Having his own intentions at this point, Enios turns his attention to take on Valary, who struggles to keep up with the swift swordsman’s strikes. While writhing in pain, the spirits of the forest gather around Wiles to give him strength to call upon his untapped potential as a demon, awakening him to powers he thought he lacked for being considered the runt of his family. It caused the Zor to become a hybrid of what most call a “Hysteriark” and a regular Zoroark. This proved to his benefit it let him jump back into the fight, putting down his ex-friend in the only way he knew how. Considering how much of a commotion was caused, the two fled deeper into the forest together, shielding themselves from any further confrontation for the time being.
More than a couple decades would pass by since the day two arrived in Nasurah, settling in as their homeland going forward. In that time, Wiles and Valary would start a family together with Soul being their first born, an unknown second child that was tragically lost to them before they were born, and lastly, Amber. Wiles and Valary both had the chance to connect or reconnect with those thought lost to time, the former of which got to meet with a peculiar Mandibuzz that they knew back in Inferno for a brief moment. The two never met again afterwards, but Wiles could feel her presence to this day. His spiritual powers mixed with his demonic abilities, allowing him to sense and even see the souls of others to the point of gauging their aura and emotions. It was a great power to have, but one he keeps in secret by hiding his actual appearance with an illusion of his old self, accompanied by a tattoo meant to honor Mary and the legacy she left behind to the care of both him and Valary. The pair would raised up the little Rockruff alongside their own children, but one day, Wiles and Valary both had to make a difficult decision when approached by a mysterious Mew by the name of Gemuline. To keep the land they lived in safe, the two were asked to have the Rockruff be released into the world on their own for a while and the memories of all but the 3 of them would be left sealed away by a mysterious fog. For more than a decade this would last…until an event that can only be described as “The Hollowing Flames” would take place, putting the now aged up Midnight Lycanroc back in the spotlight to help take down a friend they once knew.
This was nearly 3 years ago(as of Nov. 2024) when this major event occurred and the Roc - going by the name Azura - is now a major part of the family as a step son to Wiles and Valary. It was an awkward several years, but with the truth eventually being brought to light about how Azura has felt in the last few years of his life, Wiles felt comfortable enough to share his past to him in return. The two couldn’t be even closer than they were years ago, both living their lives the best they can. The Zor hybrid has come far in his life after meeting Valary and it certainly has been more lively than the life he had in Lust. He laughs every now and again over that thought, thinking back on how crappy things felt to him in the past. He couldn’t ask for anything more than what he has now…except for some chocolate. This Zor can’t get enough of it if he spots some.
