Happy Thanksgiving everyone! A Chef Grizz's Kitchen Special
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your feasts tonight. I have dished up a plate of food that everyone has cooked up from my family. There is a helping of turkey meat, green bean casserole, stuffing, mashed potatoes, Rice-a-Roni wild rice blend, potato salad, and whole berry cranberry sauce.
1 10-12lb. turkey
Poultry seasoning
Ground ginger
Ground garlic
Seasoning salt
Step 1: Getting to know your bird
Wash your hands throughly, and use your hands to clean out the inside of your turkey. Removing any and all undesirable bits with the help of running water.
Step 2: Seasoning the bird
With the help from another person, you will apply the seasonings inside the cavity to your turkey first. Then you will apply the seasonings to the outside of your turkey. With the excess spices, rub the remaining seasonings from your hands under the skin from where the turkey's neck was.
Step 3: Cooking the bird
Once you toss your turkey inside of your oven (after putting it inside of a roasting pan, preferably one with a lid). Cook your turkey at 350°F for 2-3 hours (or 15 minutes per lb. of turkey), basting it once every 30-40 minutes.
Step 4: Enjoy!
After you take your bird out of the oven, you will carve it up to your desired fashion. Let it rest for a little while, and enjoy your feast!
