Sgt. Ashley "Ash" McLane uses a Smith & Wesson Model 15 .38 Special as her duty sidearm, while Officer Blake Slater carries a Colt 1911 Government MK 70 .45 ACP. (I used my airsoft guns for reference BTW)

When I was writing the Ash & Blake graphic novel, I wanted to arm them with slightly more interesting firearms rather than just a basic and overrated glock. I felt it was appropriate to use these two since both respective guns had an extensive history in the fields of military and law enforcement.

...That and you never see a revolver or a M1911 pistol in movies anymore.
