Butterfly markings is exactly what I was thinking myself.
Those marks have a natural, of-course look to them. The most common version of Drakie wings are just the huge canvases of hide stretched on bones, like bats. But who made the rule that some kind of complimentary markings could not be featured on so wide a display?
