I have been playing guitar (classical and electric) for 4 years now and recently I have started taking baroque guitar lessons.
So this is my newest intrument and the one I already love the most, and to be fair I don't think I'll be coming back to classical for a long time.
Not only are the looks of the instrument so different and gorgeous, but the feel you get when playing it cannot be compared to any modern string instrument. It has a very low action and fairly loose strings that produce such mellow and refined sounds when plucked, and a very powerful and bright sound when strummed, and composers from the baroque period really took advantage of this duality, mostly the spanish that wrote a whole variety of pieces for the instrument, most of them being dances that would've been played at parties.
Overall it has been so fun and wonderful to learn the ways of this instrument.
