Lots of great pictures on their early access to Patreon!
Heavy Personal Development in Art
I’m running very low on commissions in my queue and I’m feeling more and more it is because I’m too expensive. My normal commissions I charge by the hour and rack up pretty high totals.
Knowing this I realized I better start working towards offering more inexpensive options.
I decided to turn to my Chest Squish YCH, one of the original staple reusable poses in my arsenal. I asked around with several clients on how much they wished it would be and $100 was about the average that came up.
I challenged myself to figure out what I could do to do them for $100 while still doing them in the time equivalent to my hourly rate.
With some planning, I did a leap of faith doing Nayomi the Vaporeon (for Vaporeon Day, Dec. 3). I met my time trial goal while still hitting all the core details I wanted. I felt like it was an overwhelming success!
I opened up the YCH to the public and got a some entries already. Starting off December will be a bit of an explosion of Chest Squish YCH art to Patreon.
Planet Passing Paws YCH
The collab animation YCH with Alef also went public for you paw lovers, so throughout December you’ll see a number of those YCHs show up.
I do like trying to do a balance between the hyper lovers and paw lovers! After all, I love both themes and they both excite me to work on~ =w=
3D Modeling Going Well
The Thundelle model is on the final stretch of development now as my first 3D character model. To end the month I am at the Rigging and Weight Painting phase, arguable the final part of the physical model before setting it up for game animation.
Though I am getting a little ahead of myself. I haven’t built her with her platforms yet?~ That will be some silly fun! ;3
Stampy has been an enormous help with the model, particularly with the Rigging. He showed me a paid Add-On and then gave me a tutorial to use it based on his own work on his models. Stampy has also been overwhelmingly complimentary on the quality of Thundelle as my first model.Well sure it is, because I got awesome advice from him and Aleron (
Aleron)!Still very thankful for the new laptop I have now. It makes the modeling process so much more tolerable with having to frequently go back and fix mistakes.
Bookstore & Building Frustrations
The core bookstore employee quit, so not it is just my mom and me working in. Going into December I have to start working 2 days per week instead of 1. Mom is almost too old to be working the bookstore for how much it demands. It’ll be an income hit for my financial goals unless I step it up productivity to make up the difference.
Yah… not looking forward to all of December….
Then Midway through November, part of the front door frame to the bookstore shattered. Thankfully my newspaper boss (Hellday) was willing to help out with getting a new piece of wood. I then had to give myself a crash course of learning how to use my Dremel to cut the wood to fit the space.
Its nice I had the Dremel tool already plus tons of tool tips. These I bought over 10 years ago when I was interested in jewelry making and making hand made beads (though I never did any of that).
My thanks
So there is my life update in the most notable areas. I really appreciate you reading! It’s a very authentic look at who I am and what I do and think. Thank you so much everyone for your support! I’ll keep doing my part to make the world a better place, one good vibe at a time. ^.^
