Before London ascended to the sunless skies, Ash had studied and studied to take down a foe who had cost them everything. Little did they know the knowledge would come in handy when they served on a locomotive with a Curator captain. And again, on Lustrum.

I haven't drawn Ash as much, but here they are! Ash / Dr. Calendula (they/it) lost their family permanently in the Neath (very difficult to do) and decided to eliminate the person they deemed responsible (also very difficult to do). Realizing that revenge would not satisfy them, they followed the rest of London to the stars, hoping to find an alternative. In a twist of fate, they ended up on a locomotive captained by a Curator, and learned that not all of the large bats were 100% terrible 100% of the time. They were dismayed when the Captain brought a certain Hoarder aboard, but were most dismayed to have to spend even more time interacting with Curators when the Captain offloaded the duty of delivering Hours to Mr. Pennies onto Ash whenever they were in Lustrum. Ash over time took a liking to Mr. Pennies, and eventually made a decision (they insist it was entirely a practical one, not one based on any emotions like wanting to spend more time with Pennies) to attempt to become a bat. Once sufficiently batty, they took their leave of the locomotive Rat Bastard, and opened a medical practice on Lustrum to be closer to their new family.

(The third Curator that Ash is referring to in this one is baby Batbayar, an orphaned infant Curator found for sale in the markets of Eleutheria as a scout. Captain Waves and the Hoarder adopt the pup, and the pup is named by the Fortunate Navigator.)
