(Day 2 of our AUvent Calendar has been revealed. And this time, we have a Mario themed AU! Let's take a glimpse of what this version of Ben and Kat have gotten themselves into.)

Our next AU takes place within the universe of Super Mario. And looks like everyone within it are starting to celebrate the holidays... Including surprisingly enough, one king Bowser Koopa alongside his army, and son Bowser Jr. as well. They weren't alone however, as they were joined by some cat-like creature and a human dressed similarly to certain heroic plumbers. There's a reason for this however...

The latter two were in fact versions of Kat and Ben repsectively who were born into it. Though with different appearance and origins.

Catbit (The Mario version of Kat), isn't actually a cat. He was instead born a rabbit and lives with other rabbits who became Nabbits like him. However one day, he found out that he is able to use various power-ups unlike the other Nabbits who couldn't. As he ended up accidentally activating a Super Bell he touched, giving him his Cat power-up which included the suit he now wears alongside the abilities of the power-up itself. Turns out he greatly prefers staying in that power-up. Enough to carry a number of Super Bells just in case he accidentally loses his Cat suit from potential enemy damage.

Meanwhile with this version of Ben. He turned out to be a human from another world, and greatly admired the Mario Bros enough to have his usual outfit shaped from their iconic clothing as well. Including the gloves. However one day in his world, some of Bowser's army barged into his home via a magic portal, and kidnapped him! Bringing him to their king in a bag, before the Koopa King himself realised as he saw the human that Ben was kidnapped in mistaken identity!

While Bowser was intent on returning Ben home in exchange for his silence... He couldn't help but notice that the smaller human showed no fear. Heck, even showed awe for seeing the Koopa King in the flesh. Like the former promised however, the latter was returned back home with no harm done. But allowed him to visit whenever he pleased.

Soon Ben started getting to know Bowser, his army, and even his own son as well. Building a bond with them. Heck, the human even got to have his own adventures. Where he discovered he could use the iconic power-ups as well! As it also resulted in Ben and Catbit meeting each other, eventually becoming friends as they built a close bond as well.

With time however... The bond between Ben and Bowser soon became more than friendship. As while the Koopa King had a thing for Princess Peach... He couldn't help but be charmed by Ben's kindness, charm, genuine interest and admiration. With the human feeling the same thing for Bowser as well. And eventually... The two of them shared their feelings, and officially became a couple. And this had a tremendous surprise for not only the Koopa army, but Bowser Jr. as well! But they soon grew to accept the relationship when they found out both Ben and Bowser were genuinely in love with each other. A sort of beauty and the beast kind of scenario.

Cut to the present however, and Catbit, Ben, Bowser and Bowser Jr. were taking the time to relax within one of the rooms of the Koopa King's castle. Especially since some presents were already brought in as gifts.

Ben and Bowser were sat close together. As the latter placed his right hand on top of his boyfriend's shoulder, and the happy couple looked into each other's eyes while remembering what lead them to this moment.

Meanwhile with Catbit and Bowser Jr. They weren't far from the happy couple, as they shared stories about their adventures and what they got into. As the latter told the former about when he and Mario teamed up to save his father from the black goop that caused his Fury Bowser form within Lake Lapcat.

While the four of them were catching up and preparing for the holiday however... Kamek was doing a nightly patrol within the sky, when he noticed a shining star giving off some kind of supernatural energy. And quickly flew to a nearby window to try to alert whoever could notice about it. Likely it could've been an attempt to convince Bowser to explore it, and see if it was a portal to another world for him to conquer... He was against world domination for once. Preferring to spend time with what truly made him happy. His loved ones, and his army as well. He didn't know it, but it would ultimately turn out to be a good call not to investigate it. For there was already enough trouble with it that it was better to be leave alone.

While the Mushroom Kingdom would have peace for the holidays, even the Koopa Kingdom would be able to experience joy for this most wonderful time of the year. Including Ben and Catbit, who're both very grateful for where their lives ended up now.
