(Day 4 is upon us now. And this time, we find ourselves within the world Fire Emblem: Three Houses for a Fire Emblem AU. With its versions of Ben and Taylor sharing the role of its main character, Byleth. Of course, I do have to give a spoiler warning for the game's overall story and lore, as well as the same for the Black Eagles/Crimson Flower route. If you do not wish to be spoiled. It was the Ethereal Moon of the year 1185, as two teachers and fighters awoke from a 5 year coma in a village at the base of Garreg Mach Monastery and were soon brought up to speed over what happened during those years they were asleep. Though against the advice of the one who found them, they made their way by foot to reunite with the students that tutored and bonded with.

Let's give a brief history for who these 2 are before getting to the main event however.

They were Taylor and Ben Eisner. Twin siblings born to Jeralt and Sitri, who shared a strong bond with each other. Almost to the point they were like best friends. However, Ben was different due to being born without a heartbeat. And out of concern for the younger twin's life, their mother pleaded with Rhea to have the Crest Stone of Flames into him. Rhea obliged and it was a success. Though it came with a cost of Sitri's death. Resulting in Ben being stoic, and Jeralt ultimately taking his twin sons away from the monestary out of fear in secret, while having the deaths of the twins faked via a blaze he started.

As the years passed, the twin siblings ultimately became mercenaries like their father. With the younger of them gaining a title of the Ashen Demon due to his stoicism, even if Taylor and Jeralt knew Ben better.

One day however by chance, Jeralt's Mercenaries ended up protecting some students from the Officers Academy. And ultimately found themselves living in the monestary, as well as being hired as teachers by the archbishop Rhea after getting to know the students from all 3 houses throughout the entire place. Choosing the Black Eagles as their house of choice to each after agreeing together.

Thoughout the year of 1180, they became not only teachers to the students they taught. But also confidants to them, as well as some of the facilty members, and even students from the Blue Lions and Golden Deer houses. As those students after hearing of the twin teachers' prowess and capabilities requested to join them. Which were accepted. (Even with Taylor developing a close bond with Raphael being one reason for joining the Black Eagles.)

At times from some missions or other events, Ben could be seen talking to a myserious green-haired girl named Sothis. Who had no memories, yet would slowly regain them. While people thought he was potentially hallucinating seeing her... His older twin Taylor was actually able to see and her, as well as converse with her at times. Much to her surprise.

However... During one mission on the 26th of the Ethereal Moon of that year, the twins saw who looked like to be a student stab their father Jeralt via a cheap shot with a dagger. And despite the best attempt with a Divine Pulse to rewind time and prevent his death... It didn't work due to an interruption, causing the twin siblings to watch as their father passed in their arms. Mourning his passing as they, especially Ben cried. The latter for the very first time.

The next mission on the following month after composing themselves, they geared to avenge Jeralt's death by killing Kronya. The true identity of the student, and a member of Those Who Slither in the Dark. But with Solon appearing and sacrificing her to conjure a spell to trap them forever in the darkness of oblivion. Ben however pushed his older twin to safety, living him trapped alone... At least, until he wholly merged with Sothis. Becoming the Enlighted One as he soon escaped the spell and reunited with Taylor. Even if the main difference was the younger twin's hair colour being a light shade of green.

Edelgard soon had Ben come with her to the Adrestian Empire, watching her coronation unfold before they returned to the academy.

On the 29th of Pegasus Moon, Ben, Taylor and their students and comrades headed to the holy tomb, before seeing imperial soilders raid it. But were able to stop them comitting theft! Soon however... Edelgard appeared afterwards, and revealed herself as the Flame Emperor!

After some back and forth... Ben and Taylor ultimately agreed to side with Edelgard. Enraging Rhea, as war was soon declared the Chruch of Seiros. But they would have all of their allies to their side. However... The twins soon fell into a chasm from a devastating attack, and fell into the 5 year coma they would soon wake up from with some proding from a familiar voice.

As the two of them returned to the monestary... They saw both Edelgard and Raphael, who soon saw them and were shocked to see them alive! Shocked, but extremely joyous. As Raphael wrapped one arm around Taylor, giving the older twin enough room to wrap his arms around his crush.

Edelgard however completely wrapped both of her arms around Ben, just overwhelmed with seeing him alive after presuming he and Taylor perish 5 years ago in the chasm. Though part of the reason for her emotional state was because she secretly had feelings for him. Feelings she didn't know he would eventually recuperate soon.

While everyone would need to start preparing war plans, they decided to let the reunion continue a little while longer. As the sky started to darken a little, and begin to snow. One thing was certainly a surprise as Taylor and Ben got a quick glimpse of. A huge star shining in the night sky. Yet nobody had any idea that the star was singificant, but not with them at all. For now... They would need to focus on the war, and reuniting with their other allies as well.
