The detour is into Synderth's body! Arch would let the snake swallow him, but it would be a reverse trap: He'd get a meal, a pampering *and* a massage. Arch likes snakes, and he treats them as kindly as possible. Depending on how Synderth handled it, he'd either trick his way out, or let Synderth release him normally -- but the big snake would not go hungry! I never leave a snake with an empty stomach! That hurts!
