I have a terrible time working on comics

That's a great way to go about it. I feel I get stuck in a similar way, so I'm trying to focus on getting all the rough panels sketched out for the whole comic first so I can at least say I completed the first step. Personal projects are the toughest to find time for so here's hoping it goes great for you :D
