One plan that might work, is the good old "Summon bigger fish". Have the two approach Queen Vetra, and blame the theft of the eye on Suzo. Claim that the whole body swap was an accident, and that HE stole the eye from them. His being an obviously sinister Kitsune, AND having ownership of the eye, lends serious credence to that ploy. Suzo admitting that Roko might well hang on for a month or two, means that his rescue, though necessary, is HARDLY pressing. And without some SERIOUS firepower, they can do NOTHING!

Everyone has to sleep. Suzocon-sama is powerful but he is not yet a god, and must maintain a physical form. And there are heroes in Japanese folklore that defeated more powerful kitsune than Suzocon-sama in that manner.
Also it is only temporary, a way to force him to free Roko and for them to GTF off his island. Maybe dump it over Darya's kingdom and let the two of them duke it out. They'll figure out something.

Maybe, but “loose ends” and “wasted opportunity” aren’t mutually the same. If Suzocon doesn’t know how to operate the eye stone, then that gives Saida a bargaining chip.
And as established, Suzocon is too strong to fight head on, but our two Heroes don’t necessarily have to fight him.
They just need to break Roko out, use the sea pendants, and swim away.
If they can pull that off, taking the Eye stone too would be a bonus.

Not one piece of that is in the realm of possibility. This is a rare villain who is smarter AND more powerful than anything the main characters can HOPE to overcome. Worse, he's also NOT arrogant in any way, he knows their knowledge has become a liability, and he's already given his opinion of loose ends. He already is planning to kill or imprison them.
He is well aware the smallest flaw can sink a dreadnought if allowed to exist, he won't be m aking such mistakes. That's why I keep saying this would REALLY be a great time for Vetra to track them down....

He wouldn't toss them in the ocean. He'd hit them with his uzumaki shotgun and erase them from existence. The idea is to keep him from doing that before they can rescue Roko and GTF out of there. I knew that Suzocon-sama was a monster the moment I set eyes on him, in part because that's how the story is going, and the nature of (some) kitsune. And I'm sure the other two will figure out some clever way to exploit whatever weakness kaibutsukitsune has long enough to get Roko and book a ticket off that island.
Nobody's perfect, and Suzocon-sama is an arrogant twat of a kitsune, just like Darya and Vetra-jou. How long has it been since he faced real opposition? Not since the Puppet War, I'd guess, and that wasn't accomplished by stealing his hoshi no tama, it was by destroying his puppets and banishing him to his island by outgunning him. Like most everyone, he's fighting the last war, not the fight he's going to face.
How is he arrogant? Confident, yes, but he's been keeping a close eye on them ever since they got to his island. It wasn't by chance that "Miyu" was there to play the role of innocent girl. The fact that Suzo SHOULD have a small army of servants/lab assistants and DOESN'T is a super red light. It means he's been keeping this impressive shrine clean all on his own, which speaks to the level of control he has over his domain. And his desire for nobody to know he's there, too!
Seems careless. One risks damaging a unique subject before it can be studied and replicated. The spirit is no longer in a vessel, meaning the reapers may interrupt and one does not know whether they can stop them, much less detect them. If time is a part of maturing as a Kitsune, accelerating perception of it to one may cause rapid maturation.
Yeah, I called this one right from the start. Kono yao no kusokitsune was a villain right from the get-go, and he's almost certainly the Puppetmancer. They stepped into a huge pile the moment they set foot on Kaibutsukitsune's island, and now he intend to mindrape Roko into a Nobody.
And Roko-san knew all along this guy was bad news. It's up to Saida-hime and Brand-san now. And they better be ready, because they have outlived their usefulness.

You need to understand how powerful and PARANOID Suzo is. He hasn't let them out of his surveillance the entire time they were on his island. He knew they were there the SECOND they set paw on it, and they've not left his sight since. Given his intelligence and paranoia, and there's no logical way that they can surprise him AT ALL. And the moment they annoy him, they're astral DUST. So, since this is well written, they're gonna have to come back later to try to free Roko, if they do at all, and this doesn't turn into Roko FINALLY making a truly fatal error.
im with hg3300, no one deserves this, if the mirror is just the trap then he can be freed from it eventually, roko has caused trouble yes but he means well and actually cares about helping his friends. like it or not many of us following this comic agree he does not deserve to be erased.
Can't agree. Roko acquitted himself well with Darya. And he tried repeatedly to warn them about Monster Fox, only to be ignored. He knew he was walking into a trap. For them to just up and run would be cowardice of the highest order and both of them don't lack for courage. Besides, IF Suzocon-sama is like a traditional kitsune, he has a glaring and exploitable weakness.
Ok, I will admit to being more than a bit biased about Roko.
But, fleeing is really the only option right now, unless some serious deus ex machina occurs.
They may not lack for courage... but only Brandt lacks for brains, Saida will hopefully be able to tell that they are leagues out of their league. And she's currently a LOT stronger and smarter than Brand.

He CAN'T. Suzo has him trapped forever, or at least until he decides to let him out. Brand and Saida can't even TICKLE a being of his power. As I said before, the ONLY way this could end positively, is for Vetra herself to come down and attack him for the eye, allowing the "heroes" to escape.
All jokes aside about the obviousness of this... this is PURE undiluted evil.
Killing or enslaving someone is LESS vile than this, and i hope... that given Virmirs way of writing things... i hope our evil kitsune here gets EXACTLY what she wanted... in reverse :P
Minus the total oblitiration of herself or that which is important but hey 99% of her spiritual power and Tails in Roko's paws forever would suffice! :D

I'm curious as to why Miyo specifically is such a focus:
All the different clones could have suggested that it was a specific gene strand that she's cloned from
Giving the specimen an actual name sounds way to humane to fit with how Suzocon acts (instead of using numerals)
Esspecially with an Ego fitting an 8 tailed Kitsune I doubt he'd want to be reminded of every failed experiment by name
ANd now going the extra mile to break Roko's mind to overlay it with Miyo's personality... this gives me the vibe of: "I'm not trying to create new life but bring back a lost one"

This is a level of scary kink mind breaking creative story twisted things. That makes me think about this for a while. the creative overflow of ideas here I would have never thought of something so perilous and scary. As kink based this comic, maybe. I do think this is the end we're getting after all hes been thrown. As someone who wrights perilous kink based stories I'm impressed with this unique ideas. To be erased in such a way and in an inordinate amount of time. The ampleness of this is Ineffable. a infinity of erasing. WOW
Not in a million years. Kitsune are VERY hard to trick, being tricksters themselves. And add that even if he pretends, Suzo isn't letting him out until he's SURE it worked. Plus again, the fact that trying it is akin to pulling out a BB gun when a tactical NUKE is already pointed at you, point blank. Being a spirit will NOT protect Roko from Suzo.
