What would Aleu have become, if she hadn't met the wolf pack and the handsome Taku who has become the new beta? Aleu remembered what it was like between the two, when she was an adolescent wolfdog and he an adult wolf at the age of three. She tries to learn the meaning of the wilderness and that it is not some kind of game. No, because the wilderness is quite harsh, cold, tough and wild life, even Taku knows that.

Taku has more experience in the wilderness and so do the others in Aleus' wolf pack. If he and his friends hadn't helped Aleu, she wouldn't have gotten as far with her lessons and more success as the alpha leader. In the afternoon she had just finished feeding her new pups with her milk and they're feeling measure and tired.

Aleu asked Tier, Dante, Aniu, Atka, Balto and Eska to guard their four little siblings while she and her mate are out for a walk for a while. And of course they want to while their mother is out. Both Aleu and Taku feel free for a while and sat on the flat rock form in the beach and look out to the sea and also the sky.

Taku: “Can you smell the air, Aleu?

Aleu: "Well, sure. What did that smell like, Taku?"

Taku took a deep breath and answered.

Taku: "The smell of salt water from the sea."

Aleu does the same thing as her mate. She breathed in the scent of the air and exhaled, nodding in agreement with Taku's statement.

Aleu: "Yes, you're right, Taku. The smell of salt water from the sea. Mmm..."

Both wolf couples look out towards the ocean horizon. On the other side is probably her parents' home in Nome.

Aleu: "I'm just wondering if my parents and siblings are living well in Nome. It's been a long time since I last saw them. Especially my papa who I said goodbye to. And I asked him to tell my mom, that I found my new home, a home in the wolf pack and with you, your cute handsome."

Taku blushed a little at her complicity, until he became somewhat normal and breathed in the fresh scent of the air.

Taku: "You were the luckiest to have a beautiful family, which is a little different like you. Half wolf and half dog, of course. But I lost my parents and siblings a long time ago. But you may have heard that before, Aleu?"

Aleu: "Yes, of course I have, Taku. And I felt sorry for you right then."

Taku: "Exactly. Even though I have you and the pups as my new family in life, I can't stop thinking about what will happen to you and the little ones, if I meet the same fate as my parents."

But Aleu snuggled closer to her beloved beta and cuddled and comforted him so softly, trying to make him feel more happy than being sad about what happened to Taku's parents and siblings in his childhood past.

Aleu: "Oh Taku. You don't have to worry. Whatever happens between us and our ten puppies, we will always be together and you will forever be my great love in my heart, Taku."

Taku. "Do you think so?"

Aleu: "Believe me, Taku. I remember how you saved me from a wild caribou that attacked me before in the past."

Taku: "Oh yes, that's true. I was about to be killed myself because of your ignorance of the laws of the wilderness. I also hovered between life and death. Even though you were both eager and lively wolfdog, I still liked you."

Aleu: "Yes, exactly. And I also don't want you to suffer a new and maybe even worse fate like last time. Besides, it would probably have been pointless if you sacrificed yourself for the sake of me and our puppies."

Aleu's eyes were closed for a moment, Taku looks at his mate with his narrow silver gray eyes and listened very carefully to what she says and continued to tell more.

Aleu: "You are not only my best beta, teacher and husband for my life. You are also the most loving and proud father to our puppies' lives."

Then Aleu's beautiful blue eyes opened, both she and Taku stared at each other with their gazes of love. Taku smiled widely feeling very relieved at her wisdom and assertion. Aleu sees Taku's face that his worries are forgotten and smiled very happily at him, until their cheeks were pressed together and nuzzled each other with their muzzles a little.

Aleu: "Mmmhh... And I need you, Taku."

Taku: "Oh Aleu... My pretty wolfdog."

Finally, their eyes were closed and both wolf couples nuzzled for a short moment. Both Aleu and Taku sighed very softly, feeling so blessed and relaxed and have both cozy and romantic moment for a while.
