Had a little bit of an idea clash on what or who to draw today but the overall vibe of trying something new, getting some practice in on new elements AND making fit with last weeks reintroduction of Eschwold won out plus gives me the reason to fill in some blanks I left ~.=.^
But hoooo boy am I happy with how it turned out even got time to add in some extras. Overall here we have a statue appearing to take action and show off just how agile it can be but how did this happen?
The old growth forest had rapidly expanded over time with that expansion many secrets became buried leading to the forest soul, Eschwold, needing help to keep things safe and discover and or return what had been lost within... one such buried secret was a defeated and petrified former adventurer, a skilled deer, that had been dumped and forgotten in a field, the forests growth eventually engulfed the statue and upon discovery the petrified thing was given new life and purpose again when Eschwold revived / reanimated him as its protector and much to the forest souls surprise, a physical affection partner / mate! Eschwold was unable to give the stone deer adventurer its original flesh back but helped give him new powers and mobility as well as his latent skills as a fighter and a remanent of his name Trenell...
The statue deer, Trenell took quickly to his new form and crafted a weapon befitting it, and is happily the stone guardian for Eschwold, he also takes some pleasure in being able to hold he form and fool unsuspecting people... but then the time comes he can rapidly shift form from statue to agile defender made of nigh unbreakable stone and the vines of the forest.
So there ya go! A little bit more lore and hopefully a few less cliffhangers between the two recent sketches and also a wonderful melding and introduction of an old adopt I got, found here www.furaffinity.net/view/46419447/
It has been a blast to get this done as well as just do more unique poses and details, but that's all for now enjoy peeps!

Whoa, this is so badass! I wasn't quite sure how he would look when you first got the adoptable but you totally made him your own! I do love the idea of him having looked all unassuming in that initial pose from the adoptable and then suddenly lunging forward, looking all stoic and strong. :D
heyas thank you so much as usual ;3 and yep manged to get him looking pretty dang spiffy, glad I waited as long as I did to really give him that coat my style.
and heheh oh yeah quite the unexpected surprise there to see that unassuming statue suddenly lunge forward showing off and even summoning the spear from the fallen wood. Mhm that initial pose from the adoptable really does a good job hiding his true nature and then BOOM
