Probably doesn't help my attitude that the airforce was buzzing over the treetops (as in, literally right over the treetops) for 3 weeks when I was backpacking. It's a National Forest, they're not allowed to fly that low with F-16's >_<
And If it's part of an exersize and its part of the flyzone they can fly that low.
And from what I've heard, the South Sierra wilderness isn't a exercise zone for aircraft, as it's a federally protected area. It's just that the forest rangers have no real way to stop it because nobody cares.
How about no. It's like the B-52, there is no real replacement and it's a solid airframe that will keep on truckin.
It will be like the last great Republic aircraft, the F-105, we will fly the wings off of it.
I could be completely wrong about that.
As for the low-flying over national forests thing, I sent an email to the Forest Service asking about it, cause it's always good to not just take things word of mouth. :)
